Strawberry Plants

We grow and sell potted Beltran Strawberry plants. We chose to grow and sell this variety of strawberry plant mainly because they produce delicious strawberries in early, middle, and late spring and grow well in the Chester County Pennsylvania area. All of our strawberry plants are started from runners off our strawberry plants growing on our property.

We have experimented with a variety of strawberry plants including the Elan, Delizz, Beltran, and other varieties and have overwhelming chosen to focus on the everbearing Beltran variety over all other varieties primarily due to their white flowers, high yield, and large flavorful sweet berries. They grow well in the ground or containers on the ground or as hanging plants.

A potted strawberry plant can be transplanted into the ground almost any time of the year since their root system is barely disturbed with little or no stress when transplanted from a pot. Transplant this strawberry plant tomorrow or grow this strawberry plant in the existing pot for up to one year.

Eat strawberries fresh with yogurt or cereal, blend them into smoothies, add them to salads and desserts, and make strawberry jam or preserves. Choose organic strawberries whenever possible to minimize pesticide and other chemical exposure.

Grow an abundance of strawberries and freeze plenty to enjoy throughout the year. It is easy to freeze strawberries and they are just as tasty and beneficial as freshly picked strawberries.

'Beltran' Strawberries (Fragaria x ananassa)

Beltran is an everbearing strawberry variety that fruits generously throughout the summer months and lightly into the fall months. Beltran strawberries are known for their white flowers, dark green leaves, limited runners, high yield, large berry size, and rich, sweet flavor with a hint of tartness and are harvested early to mid-season and sometimes into fall. Like all berry plants, they grow best in full sun with moderate water. Good variety for growing inground, potted, or hanging.
